JEALOUSY IN THE BODY RESTRAINS THE SPIRIT OF GOD ~
Two elders, Eldad and Medad, went NOT out unto the tabernacle (should we say in the marketplace?), as the rest, being sensible of their own weakness and unworthiness. BUT THE SPIRIT OF GOD FOUND THEM in the camp, and there they exercised their gift of praying, preaching, and praising God; they spake as moved by the Holy Ghost.
The Spirit of God is not confined to the tabernacle, but, like the wind, blows where He listeth. And they that humble themselves shall be exalted; and those who are most fit for government, are least ambitious of it.
Joshua does not desire that they should be punished, but only restrained for the future. This motion he made out of zeal for what he thought to be the unity of the church. He would have them silenced, lest they should occasion a schism, or should rival Moses; BUT MOSES WAS NOT AFRAID of any such effects from that Spirit WHICH GOD HAD PUT UPON THEM.
Shall we reject those whom Christ has owned, or restrain any from doing good, because they are not in every thing of our mind?
Moses wishes all the Lord’s people were prophets, that he would put his Spirit upon all of them.
Let the example of Moses be followed by those in power; let them not despise the advice and assistance of others, but desire it, and be thankful for it. If all the present number of the Lord’s people were rendered prophets, or ministers, by the Spirit of Christ, though not all agreed in outward matters, THERE IS WORK ENOUGH FOR ALL, in calling sinners to repentance, and faith in our Lord Jesus. (Matthew Henry Commentary)
Scriptural Reference: NUMBERS 11:29 –
And Moses said unto him, Are you jealous for my sake? would God that all the LORD’S people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!

The Lord does not tolerate spiritual jealousy. Miriam became a snow-white leper after her outbreak of jealousy against Moses (Nm 12:10). Jesus said that being drowned or maimed is preferable to falling into the sin of spiritual jealousy (Mk 9:42-47). The first murder was committed because of spiritual jealousy. Cain was jealous that Abel’s offering was accepted by God and his own wasn’t (Gn 4:4-5). Jesus was crucified because of the jealousy of the religious leaders (Mt 27:18). The Jews of Antioch in Pisidia persecuted Paul and Barnabas because of jealousy (Acts 13:45).
Some of history’s worst sins can be attributed to spiritual jealousy. Resist any temptations to jealousy, and repent of any sins of jealousy.
Father, may I rejoice that others are more gifted and more honored than I am.
Promise: “Any man who gives you a drink of water because you belong to Christ will not, I assure you, go without his reward.” —Mk 9:41
Praise: Praise You, Jesus, the risen Lord! You are “merciful and gracious…slow to anger and abounding in kindness” (Ps 103:8).
NO MORE JEALOUSY – COMPETITION – OR SABOTAGE
10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole
armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not
against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you
the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all,
to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the
breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of
the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of
God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto
with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given
unto me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known
the mystery of the gospel.
Always remember YOUR VICTORY is on the other side of the battle.
Satan heard you confess
“I want my stuff – I want to fulfill my destiny!
I am going to get my goods and possess the land!
I shall have my inheritance in the land of the living!
I shall receive all that the Lord Jesus has assigned to me for His Glory!”
To Lucifer that confession was a DECLARATION OF WAR. Satan (in a panic) sends
natural occurrences to frustrate you spiritually to get you to abort your spiritual destiny.
Because brethren of God, IT IS YOUR BLESSING that manifests a demonic attack.
1 Peter 5:8
What the scripture teaches is for us to be sober, vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a
roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Do not become intimidated by
unfamiliar waters. When all you know to do becomes a struggle, supernatural wisdom steps in.
IT’S YOUR BLESSING that manifests a demonic attack. Do not forget that we are
engage in spiritual warfare. We only WIN when we have a clear revelation of who Jesus is and
when we are fully persuaded of what our rights are in Him.
